Shubha is a registered AMFT and APCC. She is a multilingual and multicultural therapist (English, Hindi, Nepali & Punjabi) and has over 12 years of experience in the field of mental health. She feels grateful for the experience of working with children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families in India and in the U.S. She has experience of working with clients facing varied issues like trauma, anxiety, depression, loss of focus, Pressure of excelling in academics, relationship issues, family conflicts, and people suffering from grief and loss. Shubha is a certified grief recovery specialist and has particular interest in working with clients facing grief and bereavement. Before joining One Life Counseling, she did her internship with Youth and family services at Fremont, where she got the opportunity to serve families and children in underrepresented communities.
Shubha leans towards a humanistic approach and meets her client with empathic, accepting, and compassionate manner, she tries to help individuals free themselves from disabling assumptions and attitudes so they can be at their highest potential and live fuller and happier lives. She also works with individuals, using Cognitive Behavior Therapy techniques to identify their core beliefs and behaviour patterns. Coming from a collective cultural background, she is a strong believer of Internal Family Systems and uses the therapeutic techniques when working with families. She also incorporates mindfulness and culturally competent techniques to improve the client’s overall wellbeing. Counseling is her passion, and it gives her immense pleasure to guide people towards a happier and brighter future.
Shubha is married and has two boys. When not working she loves to spend time with family and friends, watching movies, and traveling. She enjoys being in the nature.
