I was born in San Francisco and have lived in the Bay Area most of my life. (If you want a hint about my age Willie Mays and Willie McCovey of the Giants were personal heroes in my youth.) I’ve grappled with the challenges of life trying to find understanding and peace. I’ve studied philosophy (B.A., UC Santa Cruz) and now Counseling Psychology (expected M.A. September of 2021) along with some of the various flavors of personal development endemic to Northern Californian. All roads have led me to the conclusion that the answer lies in authentic self expression and kindness.

Pain is inherent in being alive. This business of being human is not for the faint hearted. That you are considering therapy shows strength and resiliency, even when one feels like the wheels are coming off. Asking for help is a powerful act. My intention in being a therapist is to assist others in their own path of healing and discovery of their authentic voice and in living their best lives with all the potential therein. My therapeutic inclinations include Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Jungian. I have a deep understanding of grief and bereavement. My orientation is humanistic and in providing a safe space for people to look inward in search of truth.

I am a white cisgender man and am committed to being an ally to underserved communities such as LGBTQ and BIPOC. I work to stay conscious of my privilege and if you are a member of a targeted community you have my commitment to seek to understand your lived experience.

There is our inner truth but there is also an outer truth. We live in challenging times. We’ve all been severely impacted by the pandemic in a myriad of ways. We’re also integrating rapidly changing social norms and grappling with profound conflict and a deeply divided national community. Environmental crises are increasing in frequency and severity.

In spite of all of the challenges each of us faces we have the seeds of healing and understanding within. I would be honored to become your ally in that process.
