Have you ever had a recurring, invasive thought that you find negative and frustrating? Does it take over your thought process and hinder your ability to think rationally about important decisions? Does it make you feel like you are spiraling down a rabbit hole and you can’t get out? Well, I’m here to listen and step into that darkness with you. One of my core beliefs is that no one should ever struggle alone. The constant thoughts such as, “I don’t want to be a bother” or “No one will get what I’m going through”, are powerful words we tell ourselves to avoid asking for help and I can completely understand when individuals don’t want their loved ones to look at them in a different perspective. However, I believe when you come to a therapy session, it’s the first step in your own healing process. My goal is to offer a safe, judgment free, and welcoming space for you to share whatever it is you are struggling with. Whether it be about anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, or anything in general, I promise to actively listen and empathize with your situation, as well as help you discover the coping mechanisms & strengths that you find the most helpful. I value this sacred space between us and I promise to always advocate for you in your best interest.
I have experience working with children and teenagers between the ages of 3-15 both in & out of the school based setting. I also have experience working at StarVista’s suicide crisis hotline as a volunteer crisis telephone counselor for three years. I am Cuban & Nicaraguan-American with a love for learning about all cultures and backgrounds. On my free time, I enjoy activities such as walking, hiking, dancing, reading and spending time with family & friends.
I look forward to working with you and I am eager to be a part of your story!
“You're the narrator, the protagonist, and the sidekick. You're the storyteller and the story told. You are somebody's something, but you are also your you.”
-John Green, Turtles All the Way Down
