THERAPIST

My name is Hetty, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Notre Dame de Namur University. I’m currently practicing my internship to obtain a Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling from Palo Alto University graduating this coming year 2023.

In the last four years, I have provided bilingual Spanish-English counseling services and therapy to a variety of individuals, particularly individuals with severe mental illness, and dual diagnoses of Substance Abuse in San Mateo County. I have had the opportunity to work with School-age children with learning disabilities collaborating with their families and educators in various School settings within the community of San Carlos.

I have been trained in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and trauma-informed care. I utilize collaborative, compassionate existential, person-centered, humanistic approaches for counseling in an effort to foster hope healing and resilience.

In my spare time, I love nature, being outdoors, running my bike, and hiking with friends. I love Traveling and learning about different cultures. I enjoy cooking all types of cuisines and baking with the family for the holidays.
