Christine Borba-Furtado
Christine Borba-Furtado has over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in school, group home, and criminal justice settings. She earned a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology and is currently working towards a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in marital family therapy/licensed professional clinical counselor (MFT/LPCC). During her graduate studies, she researched and wrote about Post-Traumatic Growth, the process of traumatic events serving as catalysts for positive life changes and transformation. She believes personal growth is possible for anyone struggling with highly stressful and challenging life events. She is dedicated to working with people presenting with a variety of issues such as trauma, grief and loss, depression and anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, and addictions.
Christine recognizes that therapy is a very personal process and finding the right fit with the right therapist can make all the difference. She is committed to providing an environment that feels comfortable and safe. Her style is relaxed and warm, and she draws from different therapeutic tools and approaches to fit the needs of each individual.
She is fluent in Portuguese and enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband, three children, and their Goldendoodle, who is training to become an Emotional Support Animal.
