Hi there, my name is Briana McCarthy. I believe every person has unique gifts and abilities that at times can become clouded by challenges and adversities. My hope is for people of all ages and experiences to process, heal, and attain their personal and therapeutic goals in a safe, warm, and welcoming space. I whole-heartedly believe that the right therapeutic process and atmosphere can help people recognize their unique gifts and strengths to help them overcome life’s challenges, as well as develop personal insight, communication skills and an inner-peace that persists despite circumstance. I love working with people in supporting them develop coping skills that enhance their ability to attain their personal goals.
I have experience working with adults, children and youth experiencing: anxiety, depression, trauma, learning and social challenges. I have held previous positions working 1:1 and in groups with children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I take a multidisciplinary approach to therapy, such as incorporating practices from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Life is full of transitions whether younger or older and they can be stressful to manage and understand. I find it a personal calling to sit with people in those harder, stuck moments. It would be a privilege to sit and collaborate with you on your therapeutic journey.
When I am not doing therapy or at school, I enjoy going to the movies with my husband and our dog. I am a lover of artistic expressions and enjoy going to art exhibits and musical concerts.
