Let’s talk about men’s mental health.

In today’s world there is a stigma against men expressing their emotions. This can cause many men to not reach out for help for their mental health conditions when they need it.

Let’s end this cycle! Join One Life in raising awareness of the need for mental health support for men! #factfriday #onelifecounselingcenter #wecandomore #mentalhealth

This month, One Life would like to thank Karen Laing, Director of Office Operations, for being a central part of our organization and spreading her cheer to the staff!

She is, “a bright ray of sunshine with witty humor who makes our days in the office feel like a vacation,” says Michelle Stulbarg, CFO of One Life. On behalf of everyone who has the chance to cross paths with her at our center, we would like to thank Karen sincerely for being such a gift to Suzie and the entire organization.

When asked why she enjoys working at One Life, Karen responds, “I love (One Life) because of the symbiotic relationship we have with our therapists, community and clients.”

Karen enjoys dining at Siamese Kitchen in San Carlos, having a cup of tea with friends, and long walks through T. J. Maxx. Please be sure to thank her for everything she continues to do for One Life! #onelifecounselingcenter #thankfulnessthursday #mentalhealth

This week, One Life therapists would encourage you to to practice your effective communication skills. “You” statements can come off as accusatory and aggressive. Try to speak to others when in difficult situations in a way that validates their feelings while still maintaining your own self-respect. Practicing this skill with your therapist and with others will make you a stronger communicator. #wellnesswednesday #onelifecounselingcenter #mentalhealth ...

You don’t have to be in crisis to attend therapy. Having curiosity about your own behavior including your interactions with others can serve as purpose enough.

Our wellness tip this week is to consider starting therapy if you think you need it or want it. Contact us for sliding scale payment options! #mentalhealth #onelifecounselingcenter #wellnesswednesday #wecandomore

A 2018 study showed that people that regularly avoided their difficult emotions ended up feeling worse than those that regularly acknowledged them. “Being positive” can actually be toxic when it involves bypassing challenging feelings. #factfriday #onelifecounselingcenter #mentalhealth #wecandomore ...
